Catmon Parish Caritas holds Medical Mission

BUHAT SA KALOOY | Around 300 individuals were able to avail of free medical services during the Medical Mission organized by Cebu Caritas and San Guillermo de Aquitania Parish Caritas at Catmon, Cebu last July 9, 2022.

Parish Caritas Coordination Bro. Philip Garao said the “medical mission is an avenue to help the less fortunate especially the sick parishioners of Catmon.”

Philippine Catholic HIV/Aids Network (PhilCHAN) Representative Ms. Maria Elena Yumang gave an orientation regarding HIV/AIDS Awareness to members of the Parish Youth Coordinating Council. “This is an opportunity to let the youth be aware about the facts and debunk misconceptions regarding HIV/AIDS,” Yumang said.

Catmon Parish Priest Fr. Eric Pedroza expressed his gratitude for Cebu Caritas for providing medical mission in his parish.

Meanwhile, Catmon Parish Priest Fr. Eric Pedroza expressed his gratitude to Cebu Caritas for offering free medical services to the parish. “This creates a great impact to the community because this a concrete Faith in Action for the Anawim,” Fr. Pedroza exclaimed.

Aside from medical services and giving of free medicines, bags of love containing food items were also distributed to the beneficiaries. Parish Caritas Volunteers also prepared food packs for the beneficiaries.

The launching of Parish Caritas and commissioning of Parish Caritas Volunteers was also held during the 6:00am mass presided over by Fr. Eric Pedroza to open the Medical Mission.

The Medical Mission is part of Health Care Services under Archbishop Teofilo Camomot Buhat sa Kalooy Porgram, a flagship humanitarian program of Cebu Caritas.
