50 Parish Caritas volunteers from the parishes of District 5 of the Archdiocese of Cebu participated in the district-level capacity building and consultation on good governance and ecology last October 15, 2022 at the Archdiocesan Shrine of St. John of Sahagun in Toledo City, Cebu.
Cebu Caritas Program President Fr. Alex Cola gave a theological reflection and rationale of the activity. Atty. Maria Jane Paredes discussed about good governance and disinformation. Cebu Archdiocesan Social Advocacies Staff Jon Neil Perfecio shared insights on Laudato Si’ – Care for our Common Home. Cebu Caritas Humanitarian Program Coordinator Benny Tan facilitated the focus group discussion.
A pledge of commitment on upholding good governance, promoting integral ecology and fighting disinformation was made by the participants.
Toledo Team Member Fr. Wilfredo Castillo and Bato, Toledo Parochial Vicar Fr. Sherwyl Mingo were present during the activity.
Cebu Caritas Inc. is the mandated social action arm of the Archdiocese of Cebu. It serves the Anawim through its Humanitarian, Developmental, and Justice and Peace programs.
