PEOPLE’S SUMMIT | A Visayas-wide Church People’s Summit was organized by the Philippine Ecumenical Peace Platform (PEPP) last April 26, 2022 at Pope John XXIII Minor Seminary Gym with the theme: “Upholding the Sanctity of the Ballot: Today’s Challenge to Filipino Christians in Attaining Just and Enduring Peace.”
Around 200 multi-sectoral participants, including some members of the Good Governance Committee of Cebu Caritas, joined the activity

.Most Rev. Antonio J. Ledesma, SJ, D.D., Archbishop-Emeritus of Cagayan de Oro; Co-Chairperson, PEPP, shared insights on “Understanding the real meaning of Separation of Church and State.”Ptr. Carlton “Cobbie” Palm, Director of Justice and Peace Center, Siliman University; Core Group Member, Philippine Ecumenical Peace Platform, also gave his insights on “Christians’ Political Involvement in attaining a Just and Enduring Peace.”
The activity culminated with the reading of a Unity Statement, Walk for a Clean, Honest and Peaceful Election and Ecumenical Prayer & Candle Lighting.
