Smart Communications, Inc. recently turned over 100 PlantSmart Kits to farmer-beneficiaries of the Immaculate Conception Parish Caritas in Madridejos, Bantayan Island, Cebu.
These kits include loam soil, organic fertilizers and seeds (raddish, pechay, corn, okra, kangkong). These were distributed to the farmers to start their backyard farming.
Some of the PlantSmart seeds will soon be planted at the Parish Caritas Community Farm in Barangay Kaongkod, Madridejos, Cebu.
This program aims to provide access to organic produce as well as provide livelihood opportunities for farmer-parishioners and beneficiaries.
Cebu Caritas Inc. is the mandated social action arm of the Archdiocese of Cebu. It serves the Anawim through its Humanitarian, Developmental, and Justice and Peace programs.
