PARISH CARITAS | The parishioners and benefactors of San Roque Parish in Mandaue City blessed and formally launched the Parish Caritas Center on April 24, 2022.
Fr. Victoriano Torres, CM was joined by Dr. Glenda Antonio of the Spring Rain Global in the ribbon cutting ceremony which signals the opening of the Caritas Center. During the mass held earlier in the morning, the Caritas Program Implementers were likewise sent-out to exercise their pastoral duties to the community.
The Caritas Center will serve as a secretariat office that will animate, coordinate, and support the needs of different social services of the parish.
At present, San Roque Parish runs eighteen (18) programs which cater to different vulnerable sectors of the community like the homeless, the sick, youth, PWDs, elderly people and others.
The creation and establishment of Parish Caritas in all parishes in the Archdiocese of Cebu was mandated by Archbishop Jose Palma “as a concrete legacy for the celebration of the 500 Years of Christianity in the Philippines”.
Cebu Caritas Inc. is the mandated social action arm of the Archdiocese of Cebu. It serves the Anawim through its Humanitarian, Developmental, and Justice and Peace programs.
